How we calculate
- EMI, prepayment and loan eligibility use the standard reducing-balance formula. Eligibility is a guide; each bank decides using your credit score and documents. Banks may add a processing fee of about 0.5% of the loan.
- On-road price includes road tax for your state, first-year comprehensive insurance, registration, number plates and FASTag. Cars over ₹10 lakh also pay 1% TCS, which you can claim back in your income tax return.
- Cost of owning counts loan interest, fuel, insurance renewals, servicing and other costs, plus the value the car loses by the time you sell it.
- Prototype: car prices, tax rates, fuel prices and resale values are sample figures.
